Madame Marie tamoifo Nkom, called MTN (everywhere you go), globetrotter, social communicator, that’s what she likes to be called. She is the leading image of young Cameroonian women who work to advance, help and support the participation of young people, girls, women and communities in their participation in decision-making. All this voluntary work carried out by her is supported by young people engaged at local and national level without real support who are increasingly facing technical, material, financial and even human difficulties.
Her dream is to leave youth organizations autonomous and efficient in this global dynamic and to build a strong and sustainable ecological communication tool (registered in a professional Master’s degree). She is now at the head of a communications project aimed at continuing her work. She is passionate about issues related to improving the living conditions of people, young people, and women who need to be enlightened to be better understood by the general public. Since 2020, she has initiated several training courses in other areas of environmental journalism. To advance gender equality in the context of the climate crisis and disaster risk reduction, this brave woman plans to get involved in issues related to the environment, climate and biodiversity with a view to contributing to this struggle which is everyone’s business! She is surrounded in her work by a united team, which wants to ensure relay at the local, national and regional level and prepares this upcoming transition and some as it should. In the daily practice of her duties, Marie experiences quite a few difficulties in this area known to all but beyond everything, always remains positive and determined. Very courteous in character, and respectful, for her, “only determination, courage and patience make one succeed
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, she generally asks all these women, young people, world leaders who think that issues related to the environment are less important to take an interest, because the survival of the planet and theirs depends on it. And to those who think that only men are capable of dealing with big questions, there is no such thing as a female or male intelligence quotient. “We are all capable of meeting environmental challenges. You just need to inform yourself, train and work to get there because only work pays, but together we will go far.”
