AJVC – REJEFAC MOOD 2023: 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗘: REJEFAC REGIONAL COORDINATOR, NEW PCA AJVC – PRESI AJVI

My dear members, brave and valiant members of our great Network of Young Leaders of the CONGO Basin, REJEFAC, always standing up in spite of EVERYTHING. 2023 has begun and before January comes to an end, I wanted to address you all. All our action started a few years ago thanks to a voluntary commitment, carried by a will to do and change the status quo. For the effective resumption of activities after this pause for the handover between 2022 and 2023 which is intense with the production of multiple technical and financial reports, REJEFAC through the action of AJVC, assuming the role of technical secretariat of REJEFAC announces a great change this year: The founder – actress, social communicator and entrepreneur CEO of GMTV, Tamoifo Nkom Marie, initially as founding member and president, becomes President of AJVI , based in Paris – France. I am also honoured to announce my appointment as 𝗣𝗿𝗲́𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 of the Board of Directors of our Association Jeunesse Verte du Cameroun today and officially as CEO of GMTV ( GreeningmediaTV) based in Yaoundé and Paris. It is a heavy responsibility, but above all a wonderful human adventure that I know, as usual, I will be able to lead with your support and accompaniment. I count on you all.

Mrs. Kana aline lore Fomekong, the former Vice President, who is the focal point of REJEFAC CAMEROUN, will henceforth occupy the position of AJVC National President, and National Coordinator of the PODC Programme, which she has held for many years. The members of the Executive Board will be known shortly.

AJVC was created in 2000 by us, with the aim of supporting, promoting the ideas, talents and initiatives of young people and participating in decision-making on issues related to sustainable development. We accomplished this mission with the support of all the focal points and antennas of the ten countries, present in the ten countries, the ten focal points of the ten regions of Cameroon, as well as that of my team of volunteers and volunteers, sometimes members of my family in AJVC. In the next communiqué that will be made in connection with all of them, in February 2023, at the end of our first annual meeting, you will have the portrait of all this dynamic team that has accompanied this action and made this work visible.

REJEFAC already has a rich record of several campaigns, projects, activities, rallies and advocacy, as well as axes and partnerships developed at the local, regional and international level by our members, CSOs and youth organisations in the field of natural resource management in the CONGO Basin.

I am announcing also that I will be chairing an online meeting in the next few days with all the country focal points (including Gabon), all the FPs accompanied by two country members, the members of the technical secretariat, and if possible an available partner interested in our actions. This meeting will serve as a relaunch of our activities for the year 2023, preparation of the One forest summit in Gabon, the head of states summit and will build on great prospects, with a series of REJEFAC Country meetings. It is urgent to ACT and our survival will be based around these priority axes which I will quote here of which the most important is to revitalize the activities of the REJEFAC in the ten countries of the Congo Basin in order to lead to the organization at the beginning of year 2024, of the elective General Assembly of the REJEFAC (statutory texts) for a successful passage of witnesses that I will make with the young generation of environmental leaders of the basin of the CONGO. I have been announcing it for several years and again recently, and this transition must be done in accordance with the norms and rules of ART, I hope that all our partners, our ministers and heads of institutions, sustainable and spontaneous partners, will accompany us and position themselves to support this strong action financially, technically and materially.

For this new beginning, REJEFAC and AJVC in 2023, we will :

Set up training, orientation and mentoring workshops “REJEFAC leadership”, for young women and men leaders, members of Rejefac and continue our adventure for this project “AJVC REJEFAC volunteers around the Congo Basin CBFP”. “Paid or not, I commit myself to my community”.

Develop a Mentorship AJVC Event to the regional climate and biodiversity ambassadors program, carried by REJEFAC through the “COP CHEZ NOUS” concept and which will now be organized in each region and country.

Launch its project to create the multifonctionnal pan-African training programme for young and female environmental reporters, supported by AJVC and GMTV, for communication managers of REJEFAC member associations based in Cameroon.

Several activities planned for 2023 will be announced later.

We did it on a small scale, because we started with one person, then two, then 10 and then 100 and soon 1000 members and supporters in each of our countries, whatever the number what remains is stronger, the need to change the STATU QUO. We created our network in 2006, we organized our first GA in 2008, it took time and then we were recognized by CEFDHAC, COMIFAC, CEEAC and by our supervisory ministries in our different countries and at the international level by several partners and Countries whose actions and cooperation on some of our projects have been able to support our action, they are many, I will not know how to name them, But visit our website and you will see the logos and projects that our partners have supported in 2022 and well before :
